Applying the Ecological Model of Human Performance and the SlutWalk Movement to Support those Affected by Rape Culture in the Context of Occupational Therapy

Improving the occupational lives of others is at heart therapy practice. Advocacy for clientele central to this improvement, both individual and structural levels. We argue that interventions in Ecological Model Human Performance (EHP) social movement theSlutWalk can offer increased opportunity therapists address harmful implications clients affected by sexual assault rape culture. In addition, through principles EHP SlutWalk, we propose have a hand eradicating culture facilitates tolerates violence. This paper highlights barriers women survivors may face equitable participation, where establish/restore, alter, create, prevent, adapt intervention approaches client’s context elicit optimal engagement meaningful activity.
